Bon Séjour Home, Downtown Chelan’s Newest Addition

“Oak Alley is a spectacular home set among giant oak trees. Its original name was Bon Séjour,” explains Darren.  Bon séjour translates into ‘pleasant sojourn’ or ‘pleasant stay,’ which is what Darren and Brandee are aiming to provide their clients. “We hope that you’ll have a pleasant stay while visiting our shop, and we also hope you’ll find products and ideas to help make your home your own pleasant stay.”

Bon Séjour Home is the newest addition to the 200 block of Woodin Avenue. The store features products ranging from home furnishings to fine jewelry, leather handbags, lotions and candles. “I think our clients will particularly like our line of ready-made draperies. You can achieve fantastic looks using high quality silks and linens and not have to spend the price of custom draperies. We’ll carry a large variety of sample fabrics and clients will be able to choose the one that’s right for them,” says Borror.

Borror believes his clients will also be impressed by the store’s Loloi area rugs: “In addition to traditional high quality rugs, Loloi offers ultra-soft and ultra-durable outdoor area rugs. They look and feel just like fine indoor area rugs, but when they are soiled, you can simply hose them off.  They’re great to use as indoor rugs too, if you have children or pets.”

In addition to the products and lines Bon Séjour Home carries, it will also offer full-scale interior design services that include construction management, lighting design, paint selection, as well as window, wall and floor covering coordination. “We differ from some other interior designers in that we don’t charge standard design time rates. If you purchase items through us, we don’t charge any design fees, and if we’re selecting items through an outside vendor, we charge a reasonable service fee — we’re a lot more affordable than people might believe,” explains Darren.

As an interior designer, Darren has worked with a broad range of styles and clients: “A good designer doesn’t tell you what you want; rather, they’ll find a way to make what you want look good. Good designers help you set a realistic budget for your goals and then keep you on budget.”
